Freddy Krueger recently set the pending world record jump of 247 feet in a tournament held at McCormick’s in Seffner, Florida behind his 2008 MasterCraft ProStar 197, aptly named “The Nightmare”. In 2006, Krueger established the current world record of 243 feet at this same tournament, this same location and behind his MasterCraft ProStar 197.

 

After a hard fought season of battling it out with the likes of Jaret Llewellyn and Ryan Fitts, Krueger came out on top, hitting 247 feet on his third and final run of the tournament, clinching the win and a pending world record. “When I hit, I knew we had something special,” says Krueger. “I was absolutely floored to hear I set a new pending world record. I have been training for this all year and knew breaking my previous record was within reach.”

 

According to chief scorer Larry Downes, Krueger recorded jumps of 192 feet and 216 feet before launching 247 feet on his final attempt. If approved by the International Water Ski Federation's Technical Committee, the mark will surpass Krueger's current world record of 243 feet (74.2 meters) set at McCormick Lakes in October 2006.
