 Top Podium for Bonnet Brothers September 10, 2007 7th National title for Julien Bonnet Last weekend, MasterCraft Europe team members, the Bonnet Brothers, both took their rightful places on the podium during the Belgian Championship. Julien, competing his last year in Junior Men before moving into Open Men , easily made it through the qualification rounds. During the finals, Julien pushed it to the limit by pulling together a great run which included his signature method moby dick, whirlybird, batwing and some clean, off axis, spins - just letting go the handle on his 720 wild trick… but enough for another gold medal and … his 7th national title ! In the Open Men finals the heat was on… His brother and coach, Xavier, went really technical by stomping a solid moby dick, a switch crow mobe, an off axis 5 and a huge batwing before ending his stand up pass with the cleanest tantrum to blind, ever. “I rode really well today and I feel very happy. The level of riding is really high and it’s hard to make it through.” declared Xavier to his friends and family. Xavier finished in 3rd place, behind Michael Callebert and current World Champion Quentin Delefortrie. With 2 more national competitions to go, both Julien and Xavier are looking forward to the World Cup in Qatar and, of course, the EAME Championship in South Africa where they will defend their European Team Title ! |
