![]() MasterCraft GB The Season Ahead February 27, 2008 The winter plans have been going well and the calendar is once again looking full for the 2008 season.
Rider League the wakeboard tour which is open to everyone is back in a big way taking in 6 stops throughout the north of England, including being a huge part of the Conwy Maritime Festival on the August Bank Holiday Saturday. This event will see the Rider Leaguers competing in front of a 4000 strong crowd, the aim to show them something they can be involved in and with 2 MasterCraft’s on the water for try it sessions throughout the weekend they will get their chance. So mark that weekend in your calendar, with bands performing throughout the weekend and lots of other activities Conwy River Festival is the place to be on the bank holiday. Also happening in the Rider league will be the first 2 venue weekend. The 12th of July will see us hitting Welton in Hull for stop 3 then partying on at Billabong down the road where the day after will be stop 4 so a mad weekend planned there. With the junior men, Open men and Masters now being split into 2 divisions, there will be a maximum of 30 riders at each event consisting of 1 practice set and a competition pass. We are needing everyone’s entries in up front and in plenty of time, there will be no places given out on the day so get your interest in early and sign up for as many stops as you can. We feel sure that after the success of Zoe ‘ Chester ‘ Costigans do last year there will be a bigger awards ceremony this year. Also secured and set already is the exciting news of 2 Wakestocks, yes that’s 2 wakestocks. The first being held at new location Blenheim Palace, Oxford on the weekend of 27th – 29th June, then moving back to it’s birthplace of Abersoch on the weekend of 4th – 7th July. Both events will feature awesome bands, and awesome riding behind the number one wakeboard boat in the world the MasterCraft X-Star. The wakeboard nationals will again this year see it being split between 2 weekends, one being the Groms chance to shine and one being for the Open / Pro divisions, dates to be confirmed as yet. The UK kneeboard scene goes from strength to strength each year and once again will not only be hosting a 3 stop tour and a nationals, but also be taking on the Americans at the West Midlands Waterski site on 20th – 22nd June. For the 2008 season a very special edition boat is going to premiering at the first stop on 18th May. Once again MasterCraft are the chosen boat of the Student nationals again being held at the fabulous site of Sheffield Cable Ski, 17th – 19th June. And then to top it all we will be arranging a Showroom Open weekend, and a Pre Owned MasterCraft Massive weekend back at Loch Earn after last years success. Also of course we will be happy to host coaching clinics with our team of Pro Skiers and Riders for any club or group of individuals wishing to participate.
